Cloud and wind Metallic Epoxy Flooring

Cloud and wind Metallic Epoxy Flooring

Description

One of the types of resin flooring is cloud and wind design Metallic Epoxy Flooring. This flooring is used in the category of decorative products and is often used in showrooms, offices, and stores. The cloud and wind design of epoxy metallic flooring is one of the attractive designs for covering floor surfaces. The glossy surface, unique and integrated design and mirror image of this flooring are its unique features in the category of decorative flooring. This type of coating is made using epoxy resin and metal powder and creates a transparent and shiny layer on the surface of the floor.

This type of flooring is suitable for internal and external surfaces of buildings, bus and subway stations, stores, sports halls, etc. In addition to beauty and high strength, the cloud and wind design of epoxy metallic flooring has advantages such as resistance to moisture, impact, corrosion, heat, and chemicals.

Cloud and wind Epoxy Metallic Flooring

The design of wind and cloud resin flooring is a type of flooring in which resin materials mixed with metal shavings are used to create a three-dimensional effect of wind and cloud patterns on the floor. The resin material can be applied to a concrete surface and then spread with a brush or roller to create swirls, streaks, or puffs of color that reflect light at different angles. Wind and cloud design can create a unique and attractive look for any space such as an exhibition, hotel lobby, or school.

Metallic epoxy flooring is a liquid flooring based on an epoxy resin that is applied in different metallic colors (usually two or three colors) at the same time and in different patterns on the surface during installation to create metallic designs of clouds and wind and bright shadows on the surface of the flooring. This flooring has no dimensions and is seamless and integrated. Due to the glossiness of the surface and the simultaneous design or installation of the flooring, very creative and diverse designs can be created on the surface of the metallic flooring.

Installation and implementation of Metallic Flooring

Metallic epoxy resin flooring easily attracts attention due to its beautiful, shiny appearance and ability to reflect light. For this reason, it is usually a good choice for places such as shops, arcades, beauty salons, maisons, and generally anywhere that needs customer attention. The implementation of metallic epoxy flooring is almost similar to the implementation of other types of resin flooring in different uses.

1-Metallic flooring substructure

Preparation of the floor before implementation of Epoxy (resin) flooring is important and necessary. Whether or not the epoxy floor is metallic does not change the flooring process, and the process of underlaying the epoxy floor should be done in the same way as other types of flooring, and the floor should be leveled.
Before installing any type of resin flooring, the floor must be cleaned well and if there are any cracks, breaks, and holes, its defects must be removed. Then, to create a better engagement and greater adhesion of the epoxy flooring with the substrate, the flooring process is performed and grooves are created on the substrate.

2- Primer execution and underlayment of cloud and wind Metallic Flooring

After preparing the floor, the first step is to apply the first layer (primer) of resin flooring. In the stage of implementing the middle layer of epoxy metallic flooring, the color of the flooring must be dark and preferably black. This black color acts like the mercury of a mirror and makes the final surface of the flooring shiny and mirror-like, and the image is reflected on the surface of the flooring.

A very important point that should always be taken into account in the implementation of metallic epoxy flooring is the sensitivity of this type of resin flooring to any kind of pollution, dust, and surface roughness. Therefore, in all stages of the implementation of metallic epoxy flooring, if necessary, the surface contamination must be completely removed.

3- Implementation of Cloud and Wind Epoxy Metallic Coating

After applying the dark color layer and its complete curing, it is time to apply the metallic coating.
In general, epoxy metallic coating consists of the following three components:

1. Transparent epoxy resin
2. Gardner
3. Metallic color component (it can be in the form of colored powder or colored paste.)

Usually, the company producing the resin flooring material calculates the appropriate amount of each component according to the size, type of use, and traffic of the floor and provides it to the flooring contractor.

In the last step, mix the above three components slowly with a mixer. Note that the mixing of the metallic flooring material should be done slowly and at the appropriate ambient temperature (the importance of temperature and its effect on the flooring is mentioned in the article “Executing Epoxy in Cold Weather”), otherwise, it may happen after the implementation. Resin flooring, small bubbles can be seen on your flooring.

After mixing the components, apply the metallic epoxy coating to the dark color layer using a fine-textured wool roller (to avoid roller marks on the floor). If you want to use several metallic colors in the resin flooring, according to the instructions above, combine each one separately and implement them simultaneously or in different stages according to the desired final design.
The order of execution and the method of applying metallic colors will determine the final design of your metallic epoxy flooring.

In general, we need 500 to 700 grams of metallic epoxy coating per square meter, although this amount can change with the change in thickness, usage, and traffic.
If you use a small amount of metallic coating material, you may face problems such as the fish eye phenomenon on the surface of the flooring, and if you apply more than the specified amount of metallic coating on the surface, the thickness of the flooring will increase and this increase in thickness It reduces the light reflection ability of metallic flooring (which is an important property of epoxy metallic flooring).

It is recommended to use epoxy protective varnish BASADUR E 403) on its final surface to protect the epoxy flooring from surface scratches and traffic.

After applying the metallic coating, to protect the surface of the resin flooring against scratches and increase its wear resistance, a layer of transparent varnish can be applied as the final layer of the flooring. If your metallic flooring is exposed to the sun, you can use transparent polyurethane varnish to increase the resistance of the resin flooring against ultraviolet (UV) rays. Clear lacquers usually absorb dirt and dust quickly, so make sure the floor surface is clean before applying the final layer.

Choice of Metallic Flooring Color

If you want your metallic flooring to have good visual beauty and attract everyone’s attention, Besapolymer suggests you use dark colors. Epoxy metallic floors, if they are executed in a dark color (black, vermilion, or crimson), act like glass and mirror and reflect the image.

This image reflection gives a beautiful effect on your environment. In commercial applications, such as shops and arcades, dark metallic flooring is usually used to attract more customer attention. Also, light blue, silver, and gold metallic colors are better and more visible on a dark surface and it is not a good idea to use them on a light color.

Of course, you should note that dust and shoe marks are more noticeable on dark and metallic flooring. If your flooring is exposed to a lot of traffic, be sure to have a good and continuous cleaning program to maintain the beauty and efficiency of your resin flooring.

Features of wind & cloudy metallic Flooring

Some of the advantages of metallic epoxy flooring are:

Durable and durable: They have higher compressive strength than concrete, tile, or vinyl and can withstand more pressure without any damage.

Waterproof and anti-moisture: they have a special membrane that prevents water from penetrating and weakening the floor.

Easy to clean and maintain: They do not need to be waxed or polished and can be cleaned easily.

Variety: variety in color and design as well as light reflection in different angles; creates a unique look for any space.

Some of the disadvantages of metallic flooring are:

Slippery when the surface is wet. Without installing an additional slip-resistant layer, resin metallic flooring can pose a risk of slipping and injury.

Sensitivity in installation. If the metallic resin floor is not installed properly, it may not last long or reach its final properties.
