Epoxy Floor Coating

Epoxy Floor Coating

Description

Epoxy Floor Coating; is a two-component product based on epoxy resin, which is applied in transparent or colored form as the final layer in the epoxy flooring system or after primer.

The system and applications of epoxy floor coating are different from both epoxy paint and epoxy flooring. In the following, the applications, advantages, and introduction of epoxy floor coating products are discussed.

What is Epoxy Floor Coating?

Epoxy floor coating is usually applied to the concrete surface or old epoxy floor covering after applying the primer using a roller. This product is made transparent or colored based on modified epoxy resin and amine hardener and can be used as a protective top coat on all types of primers or epoxy coatings with thicknesses of 100 to 200 microns.

Epoxy floor coating, due to having a high back cover; gives the possibility of applying it in a thin layer and reducing the amount of consumption and finally, the cost is lower. In other words, in light and medium uses where there is no need to use high thicknesses, the use of epoxy floor coating with a thickness of about 200 microns while creating sanitary and sealing properties of concrete, will also be economical.

Concrete Coating

The Opacity of the Floor Epoxy Coating product which is used as Concrete Coating

Epoxy floor coatings; It is specially designed for use on the floor of the building and have good abrasion resistance against the traffic of people and light-wheeled vehicles. It is also a good alternative to epoxy floor paint, which is often used to line the floor and wears out quickly.

This product is also like epoxy flooring; It can be implemented in an integrated and seamless manner. The lack of seams and a ninety-degree angle with the wall makes it easier to wash and clean the epoxy floor of the hall. Due to the waterproofing of the concrete after applying the epoxy floor coating, not only liquids will not penetrate the concrete and it will be easy to wash, but also the dust will not rise from the surface of the concrete due to wear and a hygienic environment will be provided for the personnel.

Also, the high color diversity of this epoxy floor covering provides the possibility of creating attractive interior designs in harmony with the color of the wall and ceiling, which creates a pleasant environment for employees.

Difference between Epoxy Floor Coating and Epoxy Flooring

1. Thickness and amount of material consumption
If you have a suitable substructure (level and solid concrete), you can perform the epoxy floor directly after applying the primer. The material consumption in epoxy floors is between 150 and 300 grams per square meter, and for this reason, it is very economical.
2. Epoxy flooring is applied in at least 3 layers.

Therefore, the price of epoxy floors will be more suitable than flooring.
In other words, the amount of material consumption in epoxy flooring is at least 2 to a maximum of 6 kg per square meter due to the thickness of more than 1 mm.

3. The Opacity

The higher and stronger backing of the epoxy floor covering compared to the epoxy floor allows the possibility of performing in thin layers and low thickness.

4. The final level

Due to the low thickness and the application of epoxy floor coatings with a roller, it gives us an orange skin and semi-matte final surface.

Transparent epoxy floor coverings can be used as protection on all types of epoxy or concrete coatings.

If you use self-leveling epoxy coating, you can also get a completely smooth and shiny surface. If you want to create a design or line on the surface of epoxy or concrete flooring, you can use epoxy floor coating.

The difference between epoxy floor color and floor coating

1. Formulation

Epoxy floor paint is mainly a product with a mixing ratio of 1 to 5 with polyamide hardener and contains some amount of solvent, while epoxy coating is a two-component coating based on epoxy resin and a mixture of polyamine hardeners. Since epoxy paint is mixed with polyamide hardener, it gives a limited time to apply paint to the floor surface. See the schematic of epoxy paint layering in the opposite picture.

2. Resistance

Epoxy-polyamide protective paints wear out quickly and are often used to line the floor; While the epoxy floor coating has a suitable wear resistance for the traffic of people, wheels, carts, and places with light traffic (office, commercial, warehouse, etc.).

Uses and advantages of epoxy floor coating

Epoxy floor applications:

1. Epoxy flooring for exhibition halls, showrooms, and…
2. Flooring of administrative and commercial centers
3. Flooring of educational centers
4. Flooring of residential houses
5. Flooring of light and small warehouses
6. Anti-scratch coating
7. Seal and stabilizer
8. The final and protective layer of epoxy flooring

Features of epoxy floor:

1. Completely hygienic, waterproof and non-absorbent, resistant to liquid penetration
2. Creating the possibility of easy cleaning
3. Wear resistance
4. The final anti-slip surface
5. Easy to use during installation (easy application of epoxy floor)
6. The economic price of epoxy floor
7. Can be implemented on all types of infrastructure
