Solvent-based Primer| Damp Substrate

Solvent-based Primer| Damp Substrate

Product Introduction

  • As a primer for installing epoxy flooring in heavy applications or weak substrate
  • Wet or greasy substrate
  • As a sealing layer of the floor

  • Very high adhesion to concrete, mosaic, stone, and ceramic
  • Easy to use during installation
  • Very high adhesive strength in the presence of moisture and greasy substrate

Storage Conditions

The product must be stored in original, unopened, and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +15 °C and +30 °C. In these conditions, the product can be stored for 6 months from the date of production.

Preparation Substrate

First, the concrete substrate must be prepared mechanically and using grinding machines until the surface of the concrete, which contains cement and water residues and causes the surface to become alkaline (concrete syrup), is removed to reach the open pores of the concrete. Any weak points in concrete and surface imperfections such as holes, cavities, and cracks should be drained and repaired. For this purpose, you can use the BASA repair material. It should be noted that all dust on the surface must be removed before applying the products. Using industrial vacuum cleaners with high suction power is recommended.

Technical Information

Part A: Transparent, Liquid

Part B: Brownish transparent, Liquid

Suitable substrates for BASADUR®-E 114

Concrete, mosaic, stone, and ceramic surfaces

Small Package

Part A: 12.7 Kg container

Part B: 4.3 Kg container

Part A+B: 17 Kg ready to mix unit

Large Package:

Part A: 200 Kg drum

Part B: 120 Kg, 40 Kg drum

Before mixing the two parts, stir part A. After adding part B to part A, stir the mixture for 2 minutes at 400 rpm using a drill mixer. While stirring avoid sudden movements that allow air to enter the mixture. Then apply the material on the surface using a wool roller. Consumption of prepared material per square meter is about 100 to 200 grams (depending on floor conditions). Do not keep the mixed material in the bucket for a long time; because the primer will have a very short pot life due to the heat generated by the reaction of the components.

Primer| Solvent-based| Polyamine| Moisture-Resistant| Damp Substrate

BASADUR® E114 is a solvent-based and moisture-resistant epoxy primer. BASADUR® E 114 epoxy primer is recommended for use on fresh concrete surfaces and substrates where moisture may leak. BASADUR® E 114 epoxy primer significantly increases the adhesive strength of the epoxy flooring system compared to general primers by providing high resistance against delamination and blistering.

BASADUR® E 114 epoxy primer is recommended to increase the adhesion to the floor in situations where the substrate is greasy or contaminated, and it is not possible to clean it.

This epoxy primer, like other BASA Polymer’s epoxy primers, is two-component but because of its special chemical structure, the adhesive strength of this primer is much higher compared to general primers. This is the reason why it has a higher resistance to vapor pressure, and therefore it is less likely to blister or delaminate from the substrate in certain conditions such as the presence of moisture or oil. Note, since the amount of vapor pressure changes according to the conditions in the place, the use of this product cannot guarantee upcoming problems in the future. However, in certain circumstances where it is not possible to wait for the substrate to dry, the use of this product greatly reduces the risks associated with the presence of moisture or oil in the substrate.
