BASADUR^®-E103 is an Antistatic Epoxy-based primer with a mixture of amide and polyamine as the hardener. This antistatic primer formulation contains solvents and additives that lower the product surface electrical resistivity to the conductive range, so it could provide a suitable substrate for self-leveling antistatic topcoats. This epoxy primer makes a conductive surface and transmits the static electric charge, that is buildup due to people’s movements, traffic, wear, rubbing, etc., to the earth to the ground.

BASADUR^®-E 103 antistatic primer is used as the first step in applying antistatic resin flooring after proper surface preparation. Before applying the antistatic primer, a conductive network (I.e., copper network) has to be applied on the floor. This network will be the passage for conducting the static electric charge to the ground well of the building. BASADUR^®-E 103 is black due to its special formulation and to ensure its proper performance, it must be uniformly applied over the substrate and the conductive network. This antistatic primer, like other types of resin flooring materials, is two-component, and due to the relatively high viscosity of component A, ensuring the proper mixing of the two components is crucial in getting the best result.

The surface electrical resistivity of the cured BASADUR^® E103 anti-static epoxy primer is in the range of -Ω. It has a long pot life and very easy application.
